Re: Delphi and Informix

If you are doing ODBC work with databases that are not just Informix, we have found the Visionware SQL Retriever products to be successful and a very cheap alternative to I-Net/I-STAR combinations. These products have a fair amount of credibility (the company was just bought by SCO), and we have found them to work well. The cost is about $130 for both the client and server connection (considerably less than Informix), but it uses rpc calls instead of the Informix sqlexec service approach, and we have found that password security is bypassed with SQL Retriever which may be a concern to some depending on the client tools you are using. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Neil @ Storm.
