Process exited with return code 142: -logical logs

Hi All, I am migrating Informix server from HP UX 11.00 to 11.23 . and IDS version is 7.31 . i am getting a perculiar error when the logical logs is completed . the error is below : 15:30:05 Logical Log 29603 Complete. 15:30:08 Process exited with return code 142: /bin/sh /bin/sh -c /usr/informix/ etc/log_full.sh 2 23 "Logical Log 29603 Complete." "Logical Log 29603 Complete." can anyone help me in resolving this problem ... regds, Rao

Did you reinstall the Informix Software or did you just copy it? In either case you should have a look at the symbolic links in /usr/lib pointing to the Informix shared libraries - are they the same on the two machines/OS ? Have a look at the Shell-Skript /usr/informix/etc/log_full.sh . Is is the same on both machines? Is it executable for informix? Hi Andreas, i have reinstalled the informix software , same version as the old server one ... Hi, check what's in the ON-Bar activity log file (for pathname of the file check BAR_ACT_LOG in your onconfig file). It is pointing to the default value, log_full.sh, which tries to use onbar to archive logical logs as they fill. If you do not have onbar configured you will get this spurious 142 error in the MSG log every time a logical log fills. Probably before after the upgrade you reinstalled IDS and that overwrote the log_full.sh you were using with the default one, or you were unfortunately using the default onconfig file, onconfig.std, which would have also been overwritten by the reinstall.
