Found my answer. TechInfo # 3285 Short Description: Using SACEISOL to set isolation level in an Ace report Long Description: [Note: This applies to versions of Ace 4.12 and 6.00 or greater -dranney] >From: candiceh (Candice Hern) Subject: Re: isolation levels Thanks for all the responses regarding setting isolation levels in Ace. Since so many of you asked for confirmation of this undocumented feature, here is the scoop: The environment variable is SACEISOL and the valid values are: DIRTY READ or dirty read COMMITTED READ or committed read CURSOR STABILITY or cursor stability REPEATABLE READ or repeatable read - Candice >From: aland@quasar (Alan Denney) Subject: Re: isolation levels >> Thanks for all the responses regarding setting isolation levels >> in Ace. Make sure you use all lowercase or all uppercase for the value (mixing case would be legal in most other contexts). Also, be sure to enclose the value in quotes when setting it so that the shell preserves both words and the intervening space, e.g. - for C shell - setenv SACEISOL "repeatable read" -for Bourne or Korn- SACEISOL="CURSOR STABILITY" export SACEISOL If you use SACEISOL with SE, it is ignored. No error is returned. aland
