Compiling Scripts
Posted in 1997
Thank you for the scripts and for the prompt response. The way I = foresee it: we have a directory with the 4.1 esql/c and isql, and the = 5.03 engine installed but not running; we have another directory with = the 5.03 esql/c, 4.13 isql, and the 5.03 engine running. In the 4.1 = directory where the programmers compile, what do I set TBCONFIG to? = Nothing? (export TBCONFIG=3D ) I'm not going to have a database = running in that environment. Do I care what TBCONFIG is pointing to? = Why do you think I should have the 5.03 engine installed but not = running? Is that legal when you've only purchased one license of the = engine? The programmers will be the only users of the system who will = ever use the INFORMIXDIR that points to 4.1 directory. The application = script will use the INFORMIXDIR that points the engine. Correct? =20 We have already tested the 4.1 esql/c and isql with the 5.03 engine = because we were able to get an eval copy. Thanks again for your help. I = appreciate it.
