Informix Benchmark Query - IDS 11.5 FC2 on HP Unix

IDS version -- 11.5 FC2 Platform - HP Unix 11.23 Do we have any benchmarks for this version? Like Maximum no. of transaction before performance degrades, Maximum number of user active connections/sessions? Does Informix prioritize Insert, Updates or Deletes ?
No. The true answer is going to depend on your hardware and workload. One user pushes over 4,000,000 transactions a day through Informix on a little 4 core Linux box with 4 gb of memory. In our HPC-c like fastest DBA contest at the IIUG Conference this past week the winning contestant was passing over 60,000 transactions a minute from 1,000 concurrent users. A benchmar would always be a metric on a specif hardware configuration, for a specific workload. Your questions (n. trans before performance degrades, number of user active connections/sessions) are terribly subjective.... What is an "active session" for example? And no, there is no prioritization by operation type. What is really your concern? Do you need to dimension new hardware (probably not with that OS version). Are you having performance problems? Do you need to know if your current setup can handle more load? Regards.
