Re 2 queries 2 suns 1 takes too long

Thanks everybody for your responses. Update statistics worked to sovle this problem. Interesting thing happended in sqexplain.out. The optimizer chose the same path as before. It did not create temporary files as what happened on Sparc 2. The sparc 1000 has more memory. The optimizer did not use index on sup_doc_id, sup_cage as on Sparc 2. I know I'm dreaming but I wish Informix did the update statistics function automatically. On some boxes it takes forever. I do not know of an ORACLE equivalent.
