SPWDCSM

Jerry K. mentioned the Data studio download a week or so ago.
So I am playing with it.
IBM Data Studio v1.1, IDS 11.1FC1, Informix JDBC driver (one with data
studio and CSDK 3.0) HP-UX 11.23 Itanium
Has anyone managed to get connected to a DB with csm=(SPWDCSM) as an
option?
sqlhosts
demo_on onsoctcp bobbox informix2 csm=(SPWDCSM)
demo_shm onipcshm bobbox demo_shm
concsm.cfg
SPWDCSM("server=/opt/informix_11.1FC1/lib/csm/libixspw.so","","p=0")
--No password, for now.
I did try a .rhost entry for the client host on the server host.
Removing the csm entry allows the connection to work.
I tried adding ;SECURITY=PASSWORD after the server name, and the
connection string looked something like the one in the JDBC programmers
guide.
It is not a show stopped or anything, but it seems like it should work
pretty easy.
I am curious in general how to deal with SPWDCSM with JDBC and ODBC
based clients like Squirrel SQL and the like.
Any help is appreciated.
Sam
I have used SPWDCSM quite a bit but mostly with dbaccess/esqlc. However=
, I
don't think it should be that difficult
with JDBC too. With dbaccess, I used to set the option field in sqlhost=
s to
include csm=3D(SPWDCSM) and then
in $INFORMIXDIR/etc/concsm.cfg file I used to put the entry and it used=
to
work. I tried again today and it worked.
With JDBC too, I think all you need is client side to have
SECURITY=3DPASSWORD in ur URL and the same
setup on server (as above) and it should work.
What is the error that you are getting?
