(joe stands for joe's own editor.). It was installed on our machine as the default for new users. Offhand, I can't tell you what anon ftp site to get it from but you can try logging into quiche.cs.mcgill.ca (username archie) and look thru their database for it. It is a simple and powerful editor with a help menu for the beggining user.
