The easiest way to extract data from an Informix database is to use the DBEXPORT command that comes with version 4.0 and above. If you do not have access to this command, a share ware version of it is availiable on the Emory host, thanks to Dave Snyder. Either of the commands will create a set of ASCII files delimited by "|" symbols. A schema will also be generated and stored in 'DBNAME'.sql. This should allow you to port the data to your other database, assuming you can accept ASCII data. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bob Kane Internet: bob@worms-emh2.army.mil (IP 134.235.9.2) TechDyn Systems Voice: (049) 6241-75936 (GERMANY) CMR 421, BOX 706 Fax: (049) 6241-500154 APO AE 09056
