Both databases need to be in logging mode in order to use in the same program. Since you are just copying all records you may want to just script this. try: dbaccess <source_dbname> << EOF unload to "file.out" select * from <table>;EOF dbaccess <dest_dbname> << EOF load from "file.out" insert into <table>;EOF note: I did not test the above.
