Any CLOSEed Cursor can be reopened again. This means that the database engine must be keeping the query plans associated with that cursor so as to repopen it as quickly as possible. However CLOSE will free up any temporary spece used to store the selected rows. b. FREE in turn, not only cleans up the space but will also remove the query plan for the Cursor. Since all the resources are of Database engine, I don't think it will directly affect your client side. Hope this helps. regards -- ajay chitale +email: achit@puma.miel.mot.com +voice: 91-80-2278545
