Hello, I have a number of applications using ESQL-C which access an Informix database over a lan. They need close to real-time response from the database, that is, a response is required within a second or so. The lan is quite reliable, but I would like to be able to time-out a query in case of lan problems. Does anyone have any experience with this type of application, or any ideas? I've thought of settting an alarm before every sql query, but that seems very kludgy. My I-net manual, such as it is, says nothing about anything like this. --Joan Armstrong joana@vcd.hp.com
