First things first ;) ton's of database errors!!!!! --- What is the case number for this? We need to address this ASAP...... Next --- You can't really trap the signal because the engine traps it for contingency handling. Are you getting any messages in the message log file? If so, then I have a rather simple 'c' program that will in-effect do a contineous "tail -f" of any file and will trigger a program and/or shell when any message appears in that file. This could be used to "attach" to the log file and run a message program if the failure occured. I'd be happy to send it to anyone. Also, we have the alarms built into the engine. If the alarms do not cover the failures you are encountering, then the "trigger" program could be used. However, the real problem is not the need of an alarm program, but the fact that the engine is failing. Please enter a case on this one. Madison Pruet
