Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
The original poster asked whether rebuilding sysmaster on a production instance with $INFORMIXDIR/etc/buildsmi would cause problems with attached HDR/RSS secondaries, and whether a rootdbs restore would be the only recovery option. That question was never answered. The thread was taken over by a separate issue: setting up HDR on Windows Server 2012 R2, where trusted connections via hosts.equiv weren't working and dbaccess kept prompting for credentials. Links to the IBM docs on trusted-host files were offered; the poster later reported HDR working but never said what fixed it, then moved on to asking about Connection Manager failover setup. No resolution recorded for either question.

Hello
I need rebuild sysmaster database in our production instance.
I think running the "$INFORMIXDIR/etc/buildsmi" script will not cause problems
with our HDR/RSS instances, but I'm not sure.
Anyone know if there is any kind of incompatibility (rebuilding sysmaster)
with an HDR and RSS environment?
In case of problems, the only option is a rootdbs Restore?
Hello MITRA SADAI,
I need your help, im under high level pressure.
I have seen your post but i need information on other.
I hope you implemented HDR, so now we are implementing HDR on Windows server
2012 R2 environment.
Could you please share any document related to HDR on windows.
I not able to establish a trusted connection.
through DBACCESS while connecting to other server it prompts username and
password.
how to establish trusted connection need step by step process. Please help
Actually I created the hosts.equiv file on both servers contains the hostname
and user of opposite server.
But the connection is not establishing.
I unable to connect through DBACCESS to other server. It is promoting for
username and password. So i think trusted connection is not established.

The informix log should show an error message if HDR is set up but the
servers can't talk to each other. Do you see anything like that?

Can you share what the fix was for the HDR problem?
For Connection Manager, Tom Beebe did a webcast just yesterday on how to set
this up. If you missed it, a replay of it will be posted soon - look out
for a notice on that.
Mike
