As someone involved with people using Informix 4GL and wanting to present a common, sensible interface to users of a variety of packages, I am interested in knowing whether any common, standard (dare I use that word!) methods exist to make Informix 4GL work like most other packages, eg: - <Escape> means quit back to previous screen - <F1> for help - <Pageup>/<Pagedown>/arrow keys work as expected on screen fields Ideas such as telling termcap/terminfo that F40, F39, etc, have the escape sequences for <Pageup>, <Pagedown>, etc and then coding for F40, F39, etc in the programs seems ridiculous to me. Surely there's an easy, standard way to to such things? (Gee, and I thought 4GLs were supposed to make things _easier_!) By the way, is there any easy way to get rid of those horrid [] brackets which appear around fields and replacing them with something which doesn't look so archaic? (eg. some form of highlight/lowlight/etc attribute on the fields instead) -- _--_|\\ Craig Macbride <lhscmc@luxor.latrobe.edu.au> / \\ <s900387@minyos.xx.rmit.oz.au> \\_.--.*/ v Disclaimer: I don't use 4GL myself, so don't tell me to RTFM.
