Error 25506

I am new to this listserve, so I apologize if this has been asked before. I am trying to connect to Informix5.03 from a Windows95 pc using odbc. I installed Client SDK from Intraware. The sqlhosts file and /etc/services on the server are setup correct. The sqlexecd daemon is running. When I try connecting using ilogin I get the following error message on the server "25506 The sqlexecd daemon cannot accept a connection on the socket.: Connection refused" Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
