(Read: higher.) I have a support contract and access to the TechInfo. That user name/password doesn't work on the above URL (nor on the one for the Universal Server). I have tried for some time to get info on Data Director both for VB and Java. Last time I made some comments here in c.d.i. about it someone from Informix sent a private mail with a good description. However I still don't know how it works, only what it's supposed to do. Someone else reasently posted another URL than the above where I did find something looking like a complete documentation for the Java version which we have now downloaded and are reading. May be it will tell us more. I have also tried to get similar indepth information on the Universal Server (I have ordered the manuals) but still don't know much about it. Strange. What Informix should have done is of course to institute an open beta test program for anyone to take part in on Data Director for VB and Java. They don't seem to yet have understood the need for such a thing. May be they will soon? :In future posts, I'll try to refrain from referring to "privileged" sites :unless I note it. Fine, but better post information about something that requires a password than post nothing.
