If you're using 4GL V4.1, Informix loads a } relay module in the background for each user and this will eat a lot of the } CPU. Can anybody confirm this statement??? This is not true, the relay module takes only a small amount of time. The performance gains from going from 5.X to 7.X will more than outweigh it. Last week I did an upgrade and with the relay module the customer saw a 40% improvement in most queries and reports, I'm not saying that yours will be that good but 20% is common as a minimum.
