Informix Tapes

We are running Informix 5.03 on HP-UX 9.04. I have some informix = archive and log tapes that did not get labelled correctly. Somehow, I = need to look at them to determine what they are and the date they ran. = I have tried the unix dd command and couldn't get anything readable = back. I also called the Informix help desk and their only suggestion = was to try to restore with the tapes and see what I get. I'm not = thrilled with that suggestion. Does anyone know how I can view the = tapes or if there are any tools available that I could use?
