I would like to thank everyone for the responses. The dbaccess - -
command _seems_ to work, but I haven't had time to verify that
everything about it works the way I want. If not, It will only take
me a couple of hours to write a command line tool the way I want it.
Sorry if the command _was_ in the manuals someplace. I have been
completely overrun with taking on the entire db project at the last
minute since we fired out incompetent db contractors. I had 3 days to
do what they failed to do in 2 months! Really sad... The really sad
thing is that it only took me about an hour to do what _they_ were
supposed to do, and the rest of the 3 days doing the stuff that merged
it all into our libraries, none of which they had any clue about and
we would have had to have done anyway! I wish _I_ had the money we
paid those jokers!
The thing I _don't_ like about the "echo <select foo> | dbaccess" type
of command line statement is that I have no interactive transaction
control. When diagnosing and fixing db problems, this is critical.
