Continuous logging under onarchive - no go
Posted in 1999
I am having a major drama getting continuous backups going. Summary of the enviroment. O/S - HP UX 11.0. Server - IDS 7.3, Workgroups Edition. I ultimately need continuous logging out to a disk drive. However, I get the same problems, irrespective of whether I try to log to tape, or disk. If I try a continuous backup, I get a "No INSERT permission" message (error 275) on function CDI_INSERT_NEW_FILE_COPY. Can't seem to find in the documentation what that refers to. If I try an automatic log backup, error 22 on internal function "shmat". It implies that an invalid shared memory address is being passed. Note that I have left the relevant ONCONFIG setting alone. Note also that normal transaction processing can take place against all the databases, so it's not as if the database server is down. Could anyone please help - any background on CDI_INSERT_NEW_FILE_COPY would be excellent. Thanks. Alnis Bajars. alnisb@colorcorp.com.au
