SQL Report & Delimited output

Is is possible to program a report in Informix SQL 4.0 that will send the output to an ASCII comma delimited file. Reason: I need to develop a production application that will ask the user for example Enter Starting Part#: Enter Ending Part#: Based upon the input from the user the program/report queries the database finds the matched records and saves them out to a ascii file for further use (used in FrameMaker to produce a price sheet for ranges of parts) If this can be done better in an Informix SQL program I am not opposed to that.
