Angel,
I do not have any first hand experience with Informix SE for linux, but I
doubt that it is much different from Informix SE for any other platform.
The Informix SE product does not need "started". The tbinit program is only
used with the Informix OnLine Engine products.
The following environment variables must be set and exported in order for
Informix SE to work correctly:
INFORMIXDIR specifies the directory in which the Informix products are loaded.
example: INFORMIXDIR=/usr/informix
PATH specifies the path to find executables.
example: PATH=$PATH:$INFORMIXDIR/bin
DBPATH specifies the path to the database.dbs directory.
example: DBPATH=/usr/db
SQLEXEC specifies which engine to use (sqlexec for SE, sqlturbo for OE)
example: SQLEXEC=$INFORMIXDIR/lib/sqlexec
I hope that this helps.
