More processors or more MHz? -Reply

Two processors are probably better, but I have been told by more than one Informix field engineer that only one processor should be dedicated to Informix, because of the overhead associated with UNIX having to context switch. THREE or more processors would be even nicer, then you could give Informix a couple of CPUs of it's own. -- Sky +-------(southwel@smtpgw.maricopa.gov)-------+- Maricopa County -+ | Schuyler L. For example, would Informix be happier with a single 180MHz processor or a pair of 120MHz's? Are there issues about how the data is going to be used that would tip the balance one way or the other, and if so, what should I be looking at?
