You can backup the logical logs to disk. Check out the shell scripts in the $INFORMIX/etc directory. One of them is an example of trapping informix event 23 and backing up the logs to disk. All you need to do is trow away the old logfiles from time to time. Perform a level 0 archive every night. I have this running with OpenServer 5 and Online 7 (full version, not WS) and it works just fine. Send me an e-mail if you wan the script. K.
