Sorry, it doesn't work. I have done cc -O for fgiusr.c and -O2 for the others, and all the possible combinations of -On (n=0,1,2,3), -z, etc. and I get the same result: newfglgo myprog.4gi (same for newfgldb) Segmentation fault (core dumped) It runs OK with -V qualifier and no other param, and tells me the Informix 4GL version My software versions are: RED HAT 6.2 standard distributions (no patches applied) gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release) Informix-4GL 7.20.UD1 Informix Dynamic Server 2000 version 9.21.UC2 Thanks -- Mario R. However, I'm using 4GL 7.20, too. My release notes say to use the compatibility compiler and libraries, and not egcs (look for compat-*.rpm on your RHL6.2 discs). Therefore I set "INFORMIXC=i386-glibc20-linux-gcc" and everything works as expected. I haven't tried 9.21 because Informix insisted on my purchasing three copies of everything (greedy bastards)... -- Forte International, P.O.
