upgrade from IDS 7.31 to 11.10

Hi, IDS 11 - on AIX, As per the machine notes the OS should be 5.3. Can we install the IDS 11 on AIX 5.2 ? Have anybody tested it ? I have informix 7.31 installed on AIX 5.2. What are the steps to upgrade to informix 11 ? Regards Nandkishor

Right. And two more steps, please: a) before "shut down 7.31" do a level-0 archive ("ontape" or "onbar" backup). b) after successful "start IDS 11", do again a level-0 archive before starting work. These additional steps are recommended because you can't restore an archive/backup taken with a different version of IDS. Usually you may not need any of these, but it can save you a lot of hassle in the unlikely case of needing to restore.
