On versions 5.x and below you must purchase the I-Net and I-Star packages from Informix. On versions 6 and above the I-Star part is included (for the server side). On the PC side, you must have several parts. There are several brands of ODBC drivers, we use Q+E from Intersolv. It sucks, but there is nothing better available for our platform yet. (The product "ODBC Pack" has a new name, but I forgot what it is). One schematic looks like this: Q+E server<---->ODBC<--->MS Access does not allow time data type pack does not allow intervals, either Q+E server ---->ODBC---->MS Excel allows all Informix data types db editor There is a Compuserve forum on MS ODBC products, see GO MSKB for a review. Be prepared for a lot of petty fiddling to make this all work, you are building a house of cards. It is possible, though!
