RE: Questions before purchasing Informix

And also worth mentioning is the availability of Informix Enterprise Support, under which Informix, for a slight fee, of course ;-), will place "an advanced support level / source code engineer" (our ESE is patch-certified) ON-SITE to assist with any questions / problems / planning / emergencies / etc. This means you have a fully-qualified, knowledgeable engineer to work on YOUR open cases -- and he/she is just down the hall from you!! The price is probably a little steep for small sites, but, if you are using Informix heavily with lots of boxes / instances, and most especially if those Informix databases are critical to the business, then it is well worth the price. No, I don't work for Informix -- I don't even have any stock in the company (yet!). I just really enjoy being able to get things done without having to spend hours on the phone!!!! -----Original Message----- From: Hal Maner [mailto:hmaner@msystemsintl.com] Sent: Friday, August 13, 1999 10:58 AM To: informix-list@iiug.org Subject: Re: Questions before purchasing Informix Also worth mentioning here is the "911" feature of technical support where you get top priority if you have a "down" server.
