Best 3D graphics web development tools !

Hi All, I am currently doing a project in distributed database field. Our database server is Informix Universal Server in a NT server, users can query on our database through a browser. Now we display the query results in tuples, row by row, but the next step we want to display queries results in 3D graphics. What is the best way ? The data stored are about the earth science and atmospheric sciences(such as air temperature, pressure, humidity..., we can use different colors to represent different values while displaying), so we need to display a shpere and let user manipulate it.(interactive) How about VRML ? But it seems VRML takes a sphere as a whole and you can't manipulate a certain point on the suface of the sphere. I will be appreciated at any help. Thanks ! -WuGang
