Re: -534 error

 Hello, I've seen several responses to this problem, so if you've been given this advice, please ignore this intrusion.  Many times when people verify the permissions in the directory they wish the output to go, they verify that they (the user) can write there. Informix needs to have write permission also. To test this, su with a dash to informix and go the the desired directory. Then try to "touch" a dummy file. If you can't then the permissions on the directory need to be changed. When Informix creates the sqlexplain out file, it does so with the following perms: -rw-rw---- user_id informix sqexplain.out Many times the group of informix doesn't have the write perms in the desired dir.
