Asia Pacific DBA for HP: Informix, Sybase, Oracle

Hewlett-Packard's Asia Pacific Systems & Database Management Team, based in Singapore, requires technical professionals for challenging contract or permanent database management assignments. The Job ======= * Deliver effective consulting & support services for multi-vendor DBMS in development, 24x7 OLTP production, and data warehouse environments to HP's Asia Pacific customers * Represent Asia Pacific in global application & service design teams to develop and implement robust & highly available solutions & services * Recommend & implement improvements to processes & technology to meet required service levels * Establish development, support and operations standards & procedures for DBMS-based applications The Requirements ================ * Minimum of 3 years relational database administration experience with one or more of the following DBMS' in a Unix environment: - Informix 7.x - Sybase 10.x, 11.x - Oracle 7.x - Redbrick 4.x, 5.x - Progress 6.x, 8.x * Must have strong experience in: - Database design & creation - Management (including backup & recovery) of large databases: > 100 GB - Capacity planning & management - SQL & database performance tuning * Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential * Other skills or experience that are an advantage - project co-ordination & management - related application development - trouble-shooting & problem solving - Unix system administration, preferably HP-UX 9.x, 10.x - data warehouse administration - database management under SAP R/3 * Willingness to travel occasionally within Asia Pacific and to USA Please send your resume in confidence to: Hewlett-Packard Far East Pte Ltd Attn: Damien Thwaites 452 Alexandra Road, 4th Floor SINGAPORE 119961 Fax: (65) 374-7887 E-mail: damien_thwaites@hp.com
