Restore to different instances

We are running the Informix Dynamic Server version 7.30.UC7 in AIX. & would like to create multiple database instances on our development machine that are initialized from a single tape backup from the database instance on our production machine. We have been told that this is not possible because the backup from the production machine 'hardwires' the dbspace names & thus cannot be restored to multiple instances on one common machine. Does anyone know of a way around this? Is there possibly another way to do the backup/restore to prevent this from happening? Thanks! Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

You cannot do what you want to do using ontape/onarchive/onbar. You
will have to use dbexport/dbimport or onunload/onload to do what you
want to do.
