This time, I've given a little * more detail in the first situation scenario. * * I'm developing a 4GL application in the C environment (i4gl) * and have produced two interesting and straneg situations * since adding a C function. The function accesses another db * for (mailing) address data. * * First situation: Doing a query. After entering info. into * the first field and hitting return or ESC key, the cursor * moves back to the left field delimiter erasing the entry * from the screen. Input is successful on the second try. * What is causing this?? Do you have the VERIFY option on in the FORM? This will cause you to enter twice the same data. * * Second situation: Data is brought in from the other db * (name, company, dept. address, telephone, etc) and fields * are populated. In the process some field delimiters are blown * away. Each argument is terminated with \\0 eliminating trailing * extraneous characters before leaving the C function. * Why is this happening? Sounds like you have embedded '\\n' in the variables. Does the same thing trying to display wordwrapped var's into non-wordwrapped fields if there is hard-returns in it.
