It is supposed to be at: http://www.informix.com/informix/services/ilink/kb/kb_table.html This is where the products defect query is located. When I tested it right now I got a server error back for every query. It has however worked before, so I assume Informix will fix it reasonably soon. :A newly-acquired client of mine purchased a large third-party :application (from an Informix Partner), and purchased Online to provide :backend services. after all this outlay, the software refused to run :due to bug # 11718, "The Twin Problem, Adjacent Key Locking & Key Value :Locking." This was since the beginning of *1995*!! Since then, after :much useless feedback from Informix and the third-party software house, :no-one has given any indication as to whether the bug has been fixed and :in what version. It has been fixed from version 6.0 and up. You need either to upgrade to the latest 7.1x or 7.2x version (minimum 7.13.UC1 or 7.21.x) or program arround the problem (which is indeed possible). There may be reasons to stay with version 5.x relating to your application and possibly performance. All 5.x versions have the adjacent key locking problem though. :The specifics are as follows: : : - OnLine 5.00.UD5 Very old version. Even if you retain this you must upgrade to the latest version. There is a serious bug relating to backups in this version that might render your backups useless. You need at least version 5.08.UD1 : - SCO 3.2.4.2 You must realy upgrade this as well to SCO 5.0.2 (and remember the patches). Without that you will not get the OnLine releases you need. SCO Unix 3.2.4.2 is no longer sold, nor supported from SCO. If you had a stable system you could of course have continued to run on it for some years. However if you need upgrades of the OnLine engine you have to upgrade unix as well. :I have searched Informix's website, but could not find any information :on bug reports (as used to be present in InformixLink.. whatever :happened to this?). It's there, see above. It's called the TechInfo Center. : It seems to me that www.informix.com is more of a :marketing tool than a one-stop source for Informix-info that their users :may appreciate. Not at all in-line with my expectations of the world's :#1 provider of relational database technology! I agree that there isn't enough information, and some of what is available is a little hidden. However there sure is more than you have found. Go along the service & support links from http://www.informix.com to find this information. Here is the direct URL: http://www.informix.com/informix/services/ilink/ilink.htm To enter the TechInfo Center you need to have a user name and password. You get this for free if you allready have an appropriate support agreament on your database. Some information, particularly the Available Products Query, isn't all that well organized, but Informix is working on it. Do read the Alerts here though. There are some directly relevant to you.
