Re: on key (CONTROL-O)

Check what stty -a says. On my Sun Sparc 10 running Solaris 2.4, it says: peed 9600 baud; rows = 36; columns = 101; ypixels = 0; xpixels = 0; eucw 1:0:0:0, scrw 1:0:0:0 intr = ^c; quit = ^|; erase = ^h; kill = ^x; eof = ^d; eol = <undef>; eol2 = ^{; swtch = <undef>; start = ^q; stop = ^s; susp = ^z; dsusp = ^y; rprnt = ^r; flush = ^o; werase = ^w; lnext = ^v; -parenb -parodd cs8 -cstopb hupcl cread -clocal -loblk -crtscts -parext -ignbrk brkint ignpar -parmrk -inpck -istrip -inlcr -igncr icrnl -iuclc ixon -ixany -ixoff imaxbel isig icanon -xcase echo echoe echok -echonl -noflsh -tostop echoctl -echoprt echoke -defecho -flusho -pendin iexten opost -olcuc onlcr -ocrnl -onocr -onlret -ofill -ofdel Note the 'flush = ^o'. It isn't I4GL that is trapping the ^o, but it is the terminal driver. OK, you say, but why did it work under 4.1x? The answer is that the newer 4.1x versions probably suffer the same subtle change in behaviour, due to an improved (arguably) way of handling the tty settings in the I4GL rdsterm library. You can demonstrate that this is the problem by setting flush='^b' and then seeing that ^o works again... The long term fix? Probably to set the flush character off. Yours, Jonathan Leffler (johnl@informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> PS: It would have been useful to know which version 4 you are referring to, and which platform you are referring to. Also, whether you'd changed o/s version while doing the upgrade. If I had to guess, I'd say you were using I4GL 4.10, and hadn't changed o/s, and were using a SVR4 platform. >Date: Thu, 21 Dec 95 13:57:25 EST >From: "Sean R. Any ideas on why this might happen, before I go change all of them? >---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Sean R.
