Help!: Census/DBase snafu

I am having some difficulty with a US Census distribution CD, and am looking for some help. Census Bureau, if you're not familiar with them, sends their information out in a DBase III+ format, in 6-30M files on the CD. Now, what I would like is to get the dbase file either into Informix (anyone out there engineered this feat?), or just into ASCII. The file as it presently stands is about 15000 'characters' of dbaseIII format binary coding at the top of the file, followed by the data in regular (patterned) ascii fomat (roughly 20M chunks). Has anyone out there had to deal with a situation like this? Anybody actually had to solve this particular problem? Anyone know of a unix-platform DBaseIII-compatible database that I could 'clean' these chunks up on? Please help, I'm at a complete loss. Questions, comments, SOLUTIONS, or whatever should be sent to: Eric Parson parson@crha.rpslmc.edu or: parson@pop.stat.purdue.edu Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Eric T.
