CURRENT TIME revisited
Posted in 1994
I still don't know why the phrase; let p_newmsg.msg_time= CURRENT, or even: let p_newmsg.msg_time = CURRENT hour to minute didn't work. I did get an erroneous report on when it doesn't work, however. In p-code, the statement works okay if the program is called from the command line, it doesn't work if the program is called from a menu system or part of a prepared run statement from within another program. My work around was to declare a new global variable: sys_time char(8). Then, I replaced the CURRENT statement with: let sys_time = TIME let p_newmsg_msg_time = sys_time[1,5] This appears to work. By the way, p_newmsg.msg_time is defined in a record defined like table statement and the field is defined as a datetime hour to minute. If anyone has problems with the function CURRENT I would still be interested in hearing about it. ... "She turned me into a Newt". "A Newt?"
