IW Technology Analysis: Faster data warehouses

The December 4 Information Week has a lengthy "Technology Analysis" entitled "Faster Data Warehouses -- New tools provide high-performance querying through advanced indexing". The article addresses bitmap indexing which speeds up response time by reducing the number of read operations to the data. Advanced indexes should be used with data warehouses where users pose queries with complex conditions, aggregations, calculations, and joins, along with applications that are read-only.
