NIS+ vs Informix

Just thought I'd seek the combined experience of the C.D.I. collective. We are thinking of using NIS+ on our production network. Are there any known problems or Bugs that are an issue between NIS+ and Informix? We are running Informix Online 7.24.UC6 (we may be going to 7.3x in the near future) and Dynix/ptx 4.4.2. Thank you. ----------------------------------------- Jeff Lanham jeffl@etcscan.com DBA SCAN/Deluxe Payment Protection Systems, Inc. Bothell, WA
Jeff, Just saw your note on NIS+ 3 days after the fact. I worked on a project for the Army over the from '96 to '98 where we were on a NIS+ network with several servers each running Informix. There were never any issues with the 2 running together. In fact, it worked pretty good. Informix can use the same listener port (/etc/services) on each machine. Just make sure each Informix instance has a unique SERVERNAME and SERVERNUMBER on the network and you account for all of the Informix instances in the sqlhosts file. Good luck.
