Thanks for the information Jonathan...I was finally able to get the error
message text and with some trial and error (guessing??) found out that
ontlitcp (in the sqlhosts) should have been onsoctcp on the AIX end and
ontlitcp on the Solaris end. I do not have the engine installed on the AIX
end - so there was nothing to let me know which protocol to use. Also no
dbaccess to test the connection - just Esql/c and connect. Anyways - thanks
