Rob You didnot see a BaaN database before apparently. There is a BaaN document on the creation of an Informix Database for the application. Some of its contents is OK. Some is definitely not OK. You'd better see some company that did this work before and knows the hazards of VLDB's with many, many tables in the database. Just people who know how to prevent even the basic things like your data dictionary from fragmenting.
