Re: NT to Solaris via ODBC

fbarrett@world.std.com (Fred K Barrett) offerred: +I want to configure my PC running NT 4.0 to reach, +via ODBC, an Informix 7.24.UC2 server on Sun Solaris +2.5.1 . I've run into two problems; perhaps someone +has done this and could help me out. + +1. The release notes say the Sun Informix server + only supports TLI for TCP (ontlitcp), but the + NT ODBC drivers I downloaded from the Informix + site only supports sockets (onsoctcp). This one is easy. They are both correct. You set up your Sun box with a tlitcp listen thread, and configure your NT Client (via Informix Setnet32) to use soctcp. They will converse with each other fine. tli/soc are just two different interfaces to tcp - it is the tcp part that is important. No idea on the second question (assert failure with tlitcp). Have you called Tech Support? Perhaps a known problem with that release?
