creating a udr on hp ux using gcc
Posted in 1999
the Manual 'Extending Informix universal server user defined routines page 3-6'. gives examples in cc, which our hp ux 10.20 has, but does not support ansi standard. ( side question - is this usual? ) anyway - so im using gcc and need to know how to create the shared library part ( 2. in the document) which is equivalent to cc -K option. i have tried -fPIC in the compilation of the object to create position independent code, and then used gcc -o libraryname.so -shared source.o but got this error: usr/ccs/bin/ld: DP relative code in file /var/tmp/cca05476.o - shared library must be position independent. Use +z or +Z to recompile. collect2: ld returned 1 exit status anybody know the answer to this? Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
