Specifically with informix: What are the differences between Informix NET (development) and Informix NET Run Time? Same question applies to Informix SE (development and Run Time). I can understand that SQL or 4GL development product is needed to develop an application and SQL or 4GL Run Time product is needed to run that application (for end users). But I do not understand the same concept when referring to I-NET and I-SE. 2. What are the differences between Informix 4GL and Informix SQL? If I understand correctly, then SQL is an interactive query language that interprets command lines at a prompt and executes them. But if that is the case, then what is SQL-Run Time? The brochures seem to confuse the potential client into buying both these products. 3. Are the Informix TURBO products any better than "regular?" Is there any special reason to create two ("regular" and TURBO) products? I hope there are at least some experts out there whose explanations are a lot more reliable than sales reps. Please try to send e-mail to: upkar@trace.eng.wayne.edu if possible. My news feed is acting abnormal lately. Thanks in advance! Upkar Kohli
