A couple things you could try if you haven't already: If you run the report to a file instead of printer, can you see the problem in the file? You want to narrow down whether the problem is with 4GL, data, or hardware, and looking at a file would eliminate or confirm a printer problem. Also, could the "randomness" be because of weird characters in the data? Does it always happen when a certain row or group of rows is printed? Especially if you're printing VARCHAR or BLOBs, I would suspect this.
