Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Hi all,
I would like to copy the informix backup (with ontape -s -L 0) from the
cassette to disk before restoring.
Can I read with dd unix command?
Thank you in advance for any help.

Get the tape block size (TAPEBLK) from the onconfig file, then:
dd if=/dev/rmt/0c of=somefile bs=<TAPEBLK>k
Don't forget the trailing 'k' attached to the actual block size.
