Informix CLI userthreads on server

Hi all,
we use Informix 7.31 on an AIX server. We connect to the database
through the Informix CLI 3.81 ODBC-driver using Visual Basic programs
on the client side (Windows NT).
After the connection to the database I see four userthreads for one
user when executing the command 'onstat -u'. One of them has the
username of the user who is using the application, the other three
have the username 'informix'. I like to know weather this is normal.
Thanks for all input!

You say "four userthreads for one user"... why do you think the 3 having "informix" are "for the user"?
Are you trying just onde user connection? Did you compare the onstat -u before and after user connection?
Any DB instance will have several "informix" connections...

Because the entry for "tty" (the computer name) is the same.

We have up to 50 user connections and therefore up to 200 userthreads.
