You can use an absolute path name (or a relative one) in the GLOBALS statement and it will work, but it will also limit the portability of your code. There is no mechanism analogous to -I/some/where/include in the C compiler for I4GL to locate GLOBALS files. I normally make a link from the current directory to where the GLOBALS file actually lives; messy, but it works as long as you ensure that the link is up to date at all times. Note that GLOBALS files are strictly a compile-time phenomenon.
