Hi, Is it possible to setup Informix 10 for Linux to store the username and timestamp each user logged in and logged out from the database. Thanks, Vasilis
You can setup auditing which will be able to tell you which time any user connected to the instance and the times when they open any database. Know when they disconnect is not that easy. In most cases a close database event will be generated, but this may not happen (depending on the application). With version 11+ you could create a procedure to log that information on each of your databases (open and close). I'm assuming you know version 10 has limited support.... Hello, There is a table in sysmaster database called syssessions that logs the users who are logged in. When the user logs out then the record is deleted from this table. I was wondering if I could use this table to insert into another table when a user logs in and logs out. I tried to create a trigger so that when a user logs in to insert a record in the custom table and when logs out to update the record with the time that the user logged out. unfortunately it does not work since triggers on system tables are not permitted. My question is if there is another method to insert into a table when a user logs in and out using the sysmaster:syssessions table. Thanks, Vasilis
Uou can use the sysdbopen procedure to do that. it is fired each time a user logs into the server Art On 12/24/11, ECONOMIDES VASILIS <vasilis.economides@ctl.com> wrote: > Hello, > > There is a table in sysmaster database called syssessions that logs the > users > who are logged in.
